GUIDANCE NOTES

Codswallop has young people at the core of everything we do.  In 2013, the Codswallop team was young, enthusiastic and working on a shoestring! After 10 years, not much has changed, we're just a little older and tireder than we once were. But now its time to give a helping hand to the next generation of Codswallop, poppycock or balderdash.

We offering 10 small grants of under £100 to young people aged between 16 and 30 to either CREATE, HOST or START IN 2023.

CREATE

Got an idea for a work of art? Painting, sculpture, photography, song or video we want to fund the making of new art. Whether you require funds for resources or for your time we want to encourage you to create. We would love to be able to exhibit your work in a public place once complete.

HOST

Codswallop is passionate about bringing people together. We usually do this through public community events that are free or Pay What You Can to attend. If you have an idea for an event, a play, a concert or exhibition, we are looking to help individuals host an event. Codswallop will also beable to offer mentoring in the planning and delivering of your project.

Sometimes young people have a vision in their head and just need a nudge to convince them to achieve it. 10 years ago, Codswallop was exactly that. We hope to nudge young entrepreneurs and give them an opportunity to bring that vision in to reality.  These projects don't necessarily need to be creative but we hope that the grant will kick start something that will last well in to 2024 and beyond. Codswallop can offer mentoring as part of these projects.

Applications close at 12 noon on the 20th October 2023. Decisions will be made and announced on or before the 30th October 2023. The funds must be awarded and spent in 2023. We expect this fund to be over subscribed and competitive. Please fully read the Guidance Notes carefully before applying. If you need any access assistance or have questions about the application and process, please do not hesitate to get in touch via info@codswallop.org.uk.
